Q: I have been asked to be a bridesmaid at my cousin's wedding. I have been a bridesmaid on 4 other occasions, and I wouldn't wear any of those dresses after the wedding. How I can convince my cousin to let us wear
a non-traditional dress? - Ellen of Sherman Oaks
A: First and most importantly, your cousin is the bride and
it's her time to shine even if she picks a rather typical
bridesmaid dress. The good news is that bridesmaid's
designers are listening and designing some really great
styles. Try casually showing her a picture of a dress that
you think is stylish and pretty. The real benefit of using a
bridesmaid designer is that they offer their styles in a
multitude of colors to fit into the wedding decor and
design. Styles for 2008 are both short and long with an
emphasis on feminine and flowing fabrics. At Dressed Up!
you can have the best of both worlds: select from either
traditional bridesmaid designers such as After Six (opposite) and
Dessy, or you can shop our extensive list of
eveningwear designers such as Jovani, and La Femme.
